So Derek’s mom is still alive huh…? Her name is Talia who is described to a Deadly Alpha werewolf and could become a possible series regular. I like the idea of having around and get to see how Derek Hale treats his mother.
Would he be aloof to her or would he be a loving and caring son to his mother just like Scott cares for his mother. I’ve heard that they have a misunderstanding in the past (maybe that’s the reason they got separated from each other – just my theory). There’s an episode too where we meet his older sister, Laura. Laura was killed by his Uncle Peter in Season 1. It’s not clear yet if she’ll appear on the present or it would be a flashback episode. But I bet that it would flashback episode since she’s already dead.
It might be a flashback history episode of Derek’s past together with Laura (And again just guessing).
Teen Wolf Episode 8 has received more casting spoilers in the Hale department for the widely known flashback episode. We will finally see Derek’s softer side via his younger self. “Hunger Games” star Ian Nelson will play the tough-guy’s self during the flashback episode.
His younger-self has been described as a level-headed, friendly guy, until tragedy struck his family (some of whom are also werewolves), which ultimately led him to transform into the lonely recluse we’ve come to know.
